FAQ

1. What exactly is a “Certified Translation,” anyway?

Think of it as a translation with an official "stamp of approval." It’s a literal, word-for-word translation of your document accompanied by a Certificate of Accuracy. This certificate is signed by us, stating that we’re fluent in both languages and that the translation is 100% faithful to the original. Without that certificate, most government agencies (especially USCIS) won't even look at it

2. Will USCIS actually accept your translations?

Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: We’ve been doing this for over 20 years. Our translations are specifically formatted to meet every single USCIS requirement. We’ve helped thousands of families with visas, residencies, and citizenships. We know exactly what they’re looking for so you don't get hit with a "Request for Evidence" (RFE).

3. My English is great—can I just translate it myself?

We get this one a lot! Even if you’re a Shakespeare-level English speaker, USCIS rules say you cannot translate your own documents if you’re the applicant or the beneficiary. They require a neutral third party to certify the work. It’s better to let us handle it than to risk your whole application over a technicality.

4. How much does it cost?

We like to keep it simple. Our standard rate is $30 per page. ● A "page" = up to 300 words. ● No hidden fees or "surprise" surcharges. If your document is super dense or technically complex, we’ll give you a clear quote upfront before we start.

5. I’m in a rush. How fast can you get this done?

Immigration deadlines wait for no one. Our standard turnaround is 24 to 48 hours for most projects (1–5 pages). If you have an absolute emergency, let us know—we’ll do our best to put out the fire for you.

6. Do I need to mail you my actual, physical documents?

Please, keep your originals safe at home! We don’t need the physical paper. You can just take a high-quality photo with your phone or a clear scan and upload it through our website or email it to begf.global.languages@gmail.com. As long as we can read every word and stamp, we’re good to go.

7. Does the translation need to be notarized?

Usually, no. In 1987, USCIS changed their rules—they now require "Certified" translations, but not necessarily "Notarized" ones. However, some specific agencies (like certain consulates or academic boards) still live in the past and ask for a notary. If you need it, just ask—we can provide notarization for a small additional fee.

8. How do I receive my finished translation?

As soon as it's ready, we’ll hit your inbox with a high-resolution PDF. This file includes the translation and our signed/stamped Certificate of Accuracy. It’s ready to be uploaded directly to your online USCIS portal or printed out.

9. Can I get a physical copy with a "real" signature?

Absolutely. While the digital PDF is accepted 99% of the time, we know some people prefer the "wet signature" feel. We can mail you physical copies, and standard shipping within the U.S. is on us (Free!).

10. What languages do you guys handle?

We are specialists. We focus on the languages we know best: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. By staying focused, we ensure the highest level of accuracy for our clients from Latin America and Europe.

11. What if a name is misspelled or I find an error?

We’re human, but we strive for perfection. If you notice a typo or a name that doesn't match your passport, just tell us. We will fix it immediately and for free. Your peace of mind is worth more to us than a few extra minutes of editing.

12. Are my personal documents safe with you?

We take privacy very seriously. Your birth certificates, marriage licenses, and legal decrees are handled with 100% confidentiality. We don't share your data with third parties, and our systems are secure. Your business stays your business.

13. Ready to go? How do I get a quote?

It’s super easy. 1. Go to our website: begftranslations.com and hit the upload button. 2. Or Email us: Send your files to begf.global.languages@gmail.com. We’ll take a look and get back to you with a formal quote and timeline in no time!
